Season Two Regional Spotlight: Europe

Home of the Season One Champions and Runners-up, Europe has been a hotbed of competitive League of Legends since launch. Europe is known for its deep competitive scene, with many teams able to take games off of the best teams in the region, and its wide participation in tournaments. The region is host to a huge number of online tournaments and teams often compete in multiple online tournaments every week.
While a few players are able to make a living via streaming, teams are typically more dependent on winning tournaments for their professional careers than North American players. Unlike North America, many of Europe¢s top teams are members of longstanding eSports organizations, such as SK Gaming, Fnatic, and Moscow Five. This fiercely competitive region comes to the Season Two World Championship with a mind to show once again they are the best.

Moscow Five stands as the undisputed champions of Europe. After exploding on to the competitive League of Legends scene with their victory over Team SoloMid at IntelEM Kiev, Moscow Five continued to dominate by winning the Intel Extreme Masters World Championship without losing a single game. Known for aggressive counter jungling and hyper aggression when they get an advantage, Moscow Five is widely considered Europe¢s best hope for a Champion. They are not unbeatable however; Counter Logic Gaming EU managed to defeat them during Dreamhack. However, Moscow Five turned around and smashed the competition at ECC Poland and at the European Regionals. They are a team driven to win above everything else, and a potential match-up between them and the Korean teams is highly anticipated.
